Our story
made with loveAseel Kitchen started the way most good kitchens do — with a family recipe, a small room, and the stubborn belief that people in Brisbane would fall for Afghan food if someone just made it properly.
We opened in Toowoomba because it is the kind of suburb where people actually talk to each other in a queue. Ten years later the queue is longer and the recipes have not changed.
What we make
Parathas rolled and layered by hand, then cooked to order so the outside shatters and the inside stays soft. Gozleme pressed thin and pan-cooked with salted feta. Afghan burgers with chips tucked inside the bun, the way they should be. Loaded fries that have quietly become the reason half our regulars come back.
How we cook
Everything is made fresh daily. Nothing sits under a heat lamp waiting for you. That means a wait of a few minutes at peak times, and we would rather you waited than ate something reheated.
All our meat is halal certified, without exception. Our vegetarian dishes are cooked separately, and our team will always tell you straight what is in something.
The family
We are family-run, and most days you will be served by someone whose surname is on the lease. The characters you see around the shop and on this site were drawn for us to stand in for that family — the ones who cook, the ones who serve, and the one who eats more than they should.
